Progress with the ISE5 Scarf

Here are some pictures of the ISE5 scarf that I am knitting. As always, I am working on several projects concurrently so I am not finished yet.


Pingoittamaton pitsihuivi ei kovasti miltään näytä vielä, mutta pidän kovasti mallista ja alpakkaahan on aina ilo neuloa. Lisää kuvia myöhemmin!


This is unblocked lace so it does not look like much yet. However , I love this pattern and the alpaca is a dream to knit with. Stay tuned for more pictures!

Tiny Little Bootees

Tein alpakanjämistä pikkuiset töppöset ystävän pian syntyvälle vauvelille.

I had some leftover alpaca so I knitted little bootees for a friend's soon-to-be-born baby.


Näitähän on blogistaniassa näkynyt sen jälkeen kun Brooklyntweed nämä neuloi, mutta ovat ne kyllä suloiset!

You have probably seen thousands of these ever since Brooklyntweed knitted them, but they sure are cute!

Neck Warmer

Talvi lähestyy, joten yritän muiden projektien lomassa vaatettaa myös kovasti kasvavaa Toukkaa. Tämä pitää pojan lämpimänä!

The winter is definitely approaching and the son is growing fast. He needed a new neck warmer, this should do it!

Syksyn sävyt swap

Syksyn sävyt paketti saapui jo perjantaina, mutta Blogger ei ollut yhteistyökykyinen viikonloppuna. Katsokaa, mitä ihanuuksia sain Koukuttajalta!

I received a package from my upstream pal in a Finnish swap "Syksyn sävyt". Look what Koukuttaja sent me!


Paketissa oli teetä, kynttilä, ruohoa kissoille, kissalautasliinoja ja suklaata. Sekä ihana enkeli.

There was some tea, a candle, grass seeds for the cats, napkins and chocolate. And check out that gorgeous angel!

Ja kaiken tämän lisäksi Koukuttaja oli tehnyt minulle kissahatun. Aivan mielettömän ihana!

And to top it all, Koukuttaja had knitted this cat hat for me. I absolutely love it!

I attached the crochet flower made by Koukuttaja to the hat.

Viikonloppuna oli aivan upea sää. Aurinko paistoi ja koko perhe nautti.

The weather was perfect during the weekend. The sun was shining and our family certainly enjoyed it.

Tarkoituksenani oli blogata Blog Action -päivänä, mutta migreeni on ollut seuranani jo useamman päivän ja olen yrittänyt välttää koneella olemista. Mutta tässä hyvin lyhyt saarna.

I meant to post on the Blog Action Day, but missed it. I have had a terrible migraine over the past few days and I cannot seem to get rid of it so I have been keeping computer time to the minimum. But here you go, a very short rant.

Lähetin paketin Syksyn sävyt -vaihtoparilleni. Tein pakettiin mukaan tällaisen kortin:

I sent off a package to my downstream pal in a Finnish swap. Here is the card:

Muoks. Pienen paidan neuloin sukkapuikoilla, ensin vartalo-osan yhdeksällä silmukalla (jätin puikolle odottamaan) ja sitten kaksi kolmen silmukan hihapätkää. Siirsin hihat samalle puikoille vartalo-osan kanssa ja liitin osat yhteen. Muutaman raglankavennuksen tein, että paita saisi vähän muotoa. Lopuksi vaihdoin sukkapuikkojen tilalle hammastikut ja liimasin koko hökötyksen korttiin.

Edit. I knitted the sweater with dpns, first the body with 9 stitches (left it waiting on one needle) and then the two sleeves with 3 stitches. Then I moved the sleeves to the same needle with the body part and started knitting away. I made a couple of raglan decreses to give it some shape. When I was done with knitting, I replaced the dpns with toothpicks and glued the thing on the card.

En Pointes

Käänsin ja koeneuloin Ilun ihanan tossuohjeen elokuussa. Nyt kun ohje on julkaistu Ullassa, voin julkaista nämä kuvat.

I translated and testknit Ilu's lovely slipper pattern in August. Now that the pattern has been published in the Finnish online knitting magazine Ulla, I can show you some pics.

Anna Socks

Tekaisin iltojeni iloksi Anna-sukat Rowan mag. 40:stä.

I have had some spare time in the evenings, so I knitted the Anna Socks from Rowan magazine 40.

Kaikki ohjetta tutkineet ovat huomanneet, että siinä ei ole minkäänlaisia kavennuksia pohje-nilkka-akselilla. Ei kyllä olisi minulla toiminut ilman. Käytännössä käytin ohjeesta vain pitsineuleen mallin, kantapääksikin muutin tiimalasin ja kärjen vetäisin myös hatusta.

As you all probably have noticed, there is no calf shaping whatsoever in the pattern. Following the pattern would have resulted in a very strange pair of knee-highs. I basically used only the lace pattern from the original Anna Socks. I replaced the original heel with a short row heel and the toe shapings are also different.

Kaventelin reippaasti pohkeen alla ja käytin pienempää puikkokoa nilkassa. Toimii hienosti! Neuloin vartta vain 30 cm, vaikka ohjeessa oli 40 cm. Pingotuksessa venyi juuri sopivaksi.

I decreased several stitches under the calf, and went down a needle size for the ankle. Worked nicely! I knitted the legs 30 cm (11.8 in) long, the original pattern called for 40 cm (15.7 in). When I blocked the socks, they fit perfectly.


Varmasti menevät pitoon, minä tykkään! Lankakin on todella mukavaa neulottavaa ja kivantuntuista jaloissa.

I am sure I will be wearing these a lot, I love them! I love knitting with 4 Ply Soft and the socks feel heavenly.

My wonderful SP11 Pal!

Sain eilen ensimmäisen SP11-paketin ja se oli todellakin odotuksen arvoinen.


I received my first SP11 package yesterday and it was well worth the wait.



Paketissa oli pieni enkelirasia, suklaata, avaimenperä, pieni puinen kissa ja neulotut sukat.

The mystery package included a small, angel-themed box, chocolate, key chain, a small wooden cat and knitted socks.



Sukat ovat todella sopivat! Lankana Regia Silk ja väri on loistava!


The socks fit perfectly! The yarn is Regia Silk and the colorway absolutely beautiful!




Eikös tämä pikku kissa ole suunnattoman suloinen? Se on käsintehty ja -maalattu, osa Erzgebirge Kunsthandwerk -sarjaa.

Isn't this the cutest little cat ever? It is handmade and handpainted, a part of the Erzgebirge Kunsthandwerk series.

ISE5 Scarf

Aloitin huivin ISE5-vaihtoparilleni. Langaksi valitsin alpakkaa.


I started knitting the scarf for my ISE5 downstream pal. Yarn is alpaca.

Tässä muutama kuva huivintekeleestä. Muutamalla nupparilla kiinnittelin tätä, mutta kovasti silti vetää myttyyn. Pingoituksen jälkeen toivottavasti hienompi. Ja ohjeena on Lead or Follow Lace Scarf.

Here is how far I have gotten. This is unblocked lace so it does not really look that good, but should be nice after blocking. The pattern is the Lead or Follow LaceScarf.

Vihdoin saapui myös kutsu Ravelryyn. Tulkaa moikkaamaan, käyttiksenä sielläkin hasbu.
