Pitkästä aikaa - - Long Time No See

Hetki on vierähtänyt siitä, kun viimeksi tänne kirjoittelin. Syy on ihan yksinkertainen: meidän perheellä on ollut kamala kiire.

It's been a while since I last updated this blog but the reason is simple: I've been extremely busy.

Ollaan oltu kipeinä koko perheen voimalla. Kaksi viikkoa ennen joulua alkoi kamala, inhottava ja sitkeä nuhatauti, joka ei lähtenyt pois millään. Reilu viikko sitten Toukka sai antibioottikuurin ja kunnon yskänlääkkeen keuhkoputkentulehdukseen ja siitä alkoi paraneminen. Minä sain pari päivää myöhemmin antibiootit saman bakteerin aiheuttamaan akuuttiin nielutulehdukseen ja nyt vihdoin on parantunut olo. Uskomattoman kauan se kestikin ja joulukin meni ihan vaan kuumeillessa, mutta vihdoin olemme kaikki tolpillamme - - ainakin toistaiseksi. Marraskuussa murtunut varvaskin on muuten kestänyt iäisyyden parantua, se on vieläkin turvoksissa. Röntgenkuvissa näkyi pitkä viistosuuntainen murtuma ja sen vuoksi paraneminen on ollut näin hidasta.

Our whole family's been sick. Two weeks before Christmas we caught a horrible, nasty and enduring cold, which would not leave us. Two weeks ago the Toddler was diagnosed with bronchitis and antibiotics and a decent cough mixture finally cured him of the whole thing. Then I was diagnosed with acute pharyngitis, caused by the same bacteria. Thank goodness for antibiotics! It seemed to take forever, but now the whole family is okay. When I broke my toe in November, I thought that it would heal fast like little fractures normally do, but the toe is still pretty swollen. X-ray revealed that the fracture is long, diagonal , and that's why it's taking its time to heal.

Kaiken lisäksi talo on saapunut tontille! Taloprojekti vie kaiken Miehen ajan ja huomion ja koko perhe elää nyt odottavissa tunnelmissa. Tarkoituksena on päästä muuttamaan kesäkuussa ja aika monta proggista on vielä kesken... mutta kyllä se siitä. Olen hiljalleen alkanut pakata tavaroita täällä vanhassa kodissa, sillä tämä pitäisi laittaa myyntiin ja tavaraa on aivan liian paljon. Homma ei siis lopu ihan heti kesken.

On top of it all, we've got a brand new house! The building project is taking up all the energy and time of DH, and our family is now looking forward to moving into the house. We should be able to move in the new house in June, but there is still a lot to be done. I've started packing stuff away at the old apartment because stuff really needs to be put somewhere before we can start selling this. So we've got plenty to do around here!

Ja ihan kuin tämä ei olisi riittänyt, meiltä hajosi koneesta kovalevy. Onneksi tiedostot saatiin pelastetuksi, mutta käyttöjärjestelmä ja ohjelmat piti kaikki asentaa uudelleen. Aika iso työ siinäkin oli, varsinkin kun kummallakaan perheen aikuisella ei ollut aikaa kunnolla keskittyä hommaan.

And as if this all wasn't enough, a hard drive died in the computer. Luckily we were able rescue the files on the drive, but had to reinstall the OS and all the programs. That took a while, especially as neither one of the adults in this household had enough time to spend on the computer.

Käsitöitä olen tehnyt siinä sivussa ja kuviakin ottanut, niistä pistän lähipäivinä tänne jotain. Nähdään taas!
