Huovutuskokeiluja - - Felting experiments
Anoppi lahjoitti minulle monta sataa grammaa Islannista 80-luvun alkupuolella tuotua Álafoss lopin Hespu-lopia. Eipä taida tuo lanka olla enää tuotannossa, sillä en sitä ainakaan Álafossin sivuilta löydä. Lanka on paksua ja löyhäkierteistä. Tein pari mallitilkkua ja kokeilin, miten lanka huopuu pesukoneessa.
My MIL gave me several balls of Hespu-lopi by Álafoss Lopi. The yarn was bought in Iceland in the early 80's. This yarn is probably discontinued, at least it's not listed on the Álafoss lopi website. The yarn is bulky and loosely twisted. I knitted two swatches and felted them in the washing machine.
Tässä mallitilkku ennen huovutusta. 15 silmukkaa ja 15 kerrosta, mitat 15 cm x 11 cm.
Here's the swatch before felting. 15 stiches and 15 rows, measures 15 cm x 11 cm.
Tämä on huovutettu 40 asteessa. Mitat 12 cm x 9 cm.
This has been washed at 40 degrees Celcius (cool cycle). Measures 12 cm x 9 cm.
Ja tämä on huovutettu 60 asteessa. Mitat 9.5 cm x 7 cm.
And this has been washed at 60 degrees (medium cycle). Measures 9.5 cm x 7 cm.
Huopuu todella kauniisti! Tästä kuulemme vielä!

Hesbu: Kyllä se mulla näkyy (Firefoxilla), mutta IE:llä näyttää olevan jotain häikkää. Minäpäs vähän tuunailen pohjaa tänään, katsotaan, jos korjaantuu.
